Whatever You're Doing
see relatedI'm sitting in Flat Rock Coffee, sipping a mochaccino, getting ready to take a Psychology quiz and a Religions quiz. It's a beautiful day, and I'm trying to digest life, hoping it's digesting me.
Maine was beautiful. To save having to upload photos twice, I'm going to post the link to my Facebook album (you can view the photos even if you aren't a Facebook member) if anyone wants to see them: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=10067&l=9f407&id=1061209765. It was a week of cold weather, beautiful water, figuring things out, and reading poetry. Not a lot of poetry, but enough to link the week with it. I've long wanted to read Richard Siken's Crush, so I borrowed it from the library and took it along. I was disappointed in it, to be honest, but very impressed with the poet's skill. There were a few lines that connected well with the trip and with me --

There are worse things that can happen when one's car is out of commission. - I found a delicious recipe for pork roast that tastes like Christmas.
- A friend and I went to a new restaurant owned by another friend of mine (Hubba Hubba Smokehouse) and enjoyed the best barbecue around.

You've shared some great photos of Maine! I'm struck with the contrast of the ocean's colors from one day to the next. One time it's a brilliant blue and the next time it looks cold and gray.
That's so awesome about your friend's mother!
Can I have the pork roast recipe?
I love this fall weather, and the beautiful leaves that coat the road until a car drives through and whooshes them off to the side. Wish I would've thought of it sooner to ask you to hike with me this afternoon! My family doesn't share my love of hiking, and I'm not inclined to go alone. Well, I didn't intend for my comment to turn into a letter.
P.S. I noticed that your "currently listening" title is the same as Tony's!
Did I ever tell you then that your cousin who lives next door in the "dawdy haus" is Krista, married to Clifford? They aren't around very much cuz they're with Choice Books....
I am looking forward to holidays this year too!!
